| Description | Letters from Lord Byron to John Murray II, relating to matters including the writing, editing and publication of works including "Don Juan", "The Two Foscari", "The Vision of Judgement" and "Sardanapalus". A number of letters also concern Byron's attempts to stop "Marino Faliero" from being performed as a play against his wishes, and his displeasure at misprints in "Don Juan". Also included is the typescript of a letter of Byron to Murray dated 10th October 1819 regarding Lady Byron, the original of which was given to Oliver Chadwyck-Healey in 1950 in exchange for another letter of Byron; correspondence from Chadwyck-Healey relating to this is at the end of this document. |
