| Title | Miscellaneous papers by and concerning Henry Brougham |
| Date | 1839-1976 |
| Document Type | Miscellaneous |
| Theme | Literature and Poetry |
| Description | Includes a manuscript of an anonymous poem, "Who killed Lord Brougham?"; an annotated copy; and a note, c.1845, seemingly written by Lord Brougham requesting the books "Memoires de Fleury" and "Antoninus (or Marcus Aurelius) Meditations - Greek" from John Murray. |
| Folio Information | (1) Manuscript, 1839, of an anonymous poem, "Who killed Lord Brougham?"; (2) copy of another manuscript, 1839, of the poem "Who killed Lord Brougham?". The first folio has been annotated at the head to indicate that the manuscript was in the collection of Barbara Murray; (3) note, 1845[?], on which is written "Memoires de Fleury" and "Antoninus (or Marcus Aurelius) Meditations - Greek". The slip would appear to be a request for books to be supplied by John Murray. The hand would appear to be that of Henry Brougham, the suggestion of which is confirmed by a contemporary annotation on the recto, "Lord Brougham, Mar 1/45". |
